Wrigley Mansion, a breathtaking landmark

Constructed from 1928 to 1932 by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr., the Wrigley Mansion was a 50th-anniversary gift to his wife, Ada. Sitting at the top of a hill, the Mansion commands the most dramatic views in Phoenix, showcasing the mountains and the city below. Its architecture includes curated elements of Spanish, California Monterey, and Mediterranean styles. Original tiles still grace the Mansion, having been shipped from the Wrigley family’s tile factory on Catalina Island and carted up the hill by donkey.

Once sold by the Wrigley family in 1973, it changed hands several times. In 1992, as the city of Phoenix was planning to tear it down to make room for condos, the late Geordie Hormel and his wife, Jamie, fell in love with the property and purchased it. Together they restored it with the intention of sharing its inherent magic with everyone. Extensive renovations were completed in 2021 and today, the Wrigley Mansion remains a premier fine dining and special event venue offering tours, the Hormel Jazz Series and Sunday Brunch.  It houses Geordie’s Restaurant and Lounge, Jamie’s Wine Bar, Christopher’s at Wrigley Mansion, six private dining options, and a beautiful ballroom.

Chef David Brito and his team head up Geordie’s kitchen, and  our outstanding wine program includes more than 16,000 bottles and consistently earns the prestigious Wine Spectator “Best of Award of Excellence” as well as Wine Enthusiast’s “America’s Best 100 Wine Restaurants.”

Opened in 2021, Christopher’s at the Wrigley Mansion is located in an adjacent all-glass building. James Beard Chef Christopher Gross’ vision for a unique, intimate space that maximized the stunning views was realized through the collaboration with architect Wendell Burnett. Chef Christopher and his team offer a unique dining concept, having all staff cross-trained to cook, serve, and learn all aspects of the business. Menu options vary by the day of the week, with an 8-course tasting on weekends and Christopher’s Classics mid-week. The works of many local artisans are throughout the restaurant, serving to help highlight the unparalleled views of the mountains and city.
